My Akrapovic exhaust needs a little attention.
The spring loops have snapped either side of a join and under heavy accelation the end can blows off.
So basically i need new loops welding on. Anyone know much about ti welding? I can do mild steel or stainless myself but apparently ti needs to welded in an Argon cloud and any contact with oxygen makes the consumable explode???

Help!

Titanium does need welding in an inert atmosphere as it reacts with oxygen and also nitrogen when molten which will make the titanium brittle.

Tig weld in argon giving a 10 second purge as the weld cools.

I'd go and see a specialist welding place. A quick look in the yellow pages should throw some up.
