ktm 350 exc-f any owners?

Ive got a KTM 1290 SDR for the road and had a 990SM before that. I am 6ft 4 and rather broad, i have pretty much no off-roading experience.

I am not looking to go racing or anything but i bought my son a 85cc motocross and he's getting to point where someone needs to be able to follow him. There is a mx track about 60 miles away we could go to but again it would not be racing just for fun.

This winter has been a bit of a killer and im looking at offroad to keep the riding blues away.

Im looking at the exc-f as i could use it on the road to get to a few routes when i would not always need to stick it in the van when on my own.

I'd personally go for a 2T - way less maintenance and way more entertaining.

300 for grunt, 250 for a balance, 200 for mental-ness.

I've got a 200 personally and I love it.

Thats shows how much i know, i thought the 4 stroke would be less maintenance that a 2stroke.

Having bought a new KTM 450 RFS EXC back in 2004 I have checked and adjusted the valves only a few times.Mostly it has been oil and filter changes.That and chains and sprockets and tyres,together with air filters.

Someone I used to know had a later model 450 EXC-F and he found it a bit of a handful,so bought a new 350 EXC-F and much preferred the lightness.But then being only 5' 6" I noticed how he struggled.

The problem with riding anything like old roads in Scotland is that the law regarding public rights of way like bridleways and byways is completely different to that in England and Wales,should you be looking to ride unsurfaced old roads.

Hi yeah the laws in Scotland for riding off road are pretty shit but there are a few place i can hopefully go without too many problems and a track about 60miles away.
