Remember:
What happens in Fat Club stays in Fat Club
So I go to doctor and he says
"You're getting a right fat bastard aintcha? Still on the see food diet?"
then warns me of the risk of bad ades diatribes, high oil pressure an all manner of
medical nasties if I dont take action.
So, reckoning I'd better take this as a wake up call, I emptied the larder of beer, cider, bread, cakes, buns, sweets, various num nums etc
and went on this low carb diet and have lost about 6 Kg since 24th Jan.
Mostly water loss at first I'm told, but the odd thing is I'm actually feeling somewhat better
in myself even at this early stage and losing the weight so soon kind of inspires me to carry on.
Another odd thing is I dont feel particularly hungry.
Anyone else on this journey to slim beauty? ____________________ bikers smell of wee |

I've just started again, loosely following Slimming World. 3 weeks so far, 12.5lbs (5.7kgs). The wife does low carb, I love my bread and chips too much. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

As MCN said, eat less and stick to healthy foods. Make sure you like what you eat. Get exercise - even walking say, 3 -4 miles a day will help. Calories out > calories in.
Forget the fad diets, they won't encourage you to change your eating habits which is the outcome you should be aiming for. They'll give you a short term loss which you'll inevitably pile back on when you come off them.
Good luck |

Before Christmas I was training 3 to 4 times a week and with that I was losing weight without having to be to careful about what I eat.
I was also making a bit of an effort to stay away from the fried breakfasts.
I felt better for losing a bit of weight.
Since the training injury just before Christmas I have not trained much and have eaten everything in sight .
All the weight is back on along with a bit of a belly .
Staying away from fry-ups and a bit of training worked for me.
That’s what I’m going back to now I’ve recovered from my injuries. ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

My wife was diagnosed with Type 2 and I looked at myself (shuddered) and thought "I'm very much the wrong side of thirty to carry on the way I am!" So I've attempted to give up sugar...
Not in a literal, ideological vegan-style way, just trying not to consume too many blatantly pointless carbs. I haven't drunk cola, lemonade or red bull in about 5 years or so, not even the diet stuff. And now I find something like the occasion doughnut almost unpleasant in its over-sweetness.
I still drink beer though, one might go too far with these things! ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

What ever your diet it number one needs to be stuff you like to eat.
Number two it should be stuff that does you good.

^^^ Basically this
One of my ex's had a degree in sports science and, due to the amount of help I gave her putting together various bits of coursework, I effectively did the degree with her - it was amazing the number of myths it exploded.
Forget cutting out or dramatically reducing food groups, it will give you a quick fix, but once you get to your target, whatever it is will gradually come back into your diet and the weight goes back on.
We need everything, not just for vitamins and nutrients, but to properly process those things into our bodies.
If you want to cut out anything, lose processed sugar and if you like sweet things, substitute it with honey, we metabolise that much more efficiently and healthily.
The best way to lose weight is to calorie count - the average male takes 2500 - 3000 calories a day, so try a limit of 1500 and eat anything you like - lunch could be a pack of microwave rice and some protein, which leaves room for a dinner of a 3 piece meal from KFC with full fat coke, giving a total calorie count of 1400.
Alcohol is a major no no, so cut that out or dramatically reduce it.
And do some exercise, doesn't have to be the gym, could be walking the dog for a bit longer, or parking the car a bit further away from work and power walking in.
But the essential part is, eat anything you like, just make sure you burn more than you put in - feeling hungry is a good sign you're doing that and don't rush it, the quicker you lose weight, the quicker you're likely to put it back on. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

I've had a fat nurse telling me to lose weight too,
but being a soft southern bastard I kept my thoughts to myself.
nodded humbly at diet instructions, took the brochures and crept out in a silent repressed rage. ____________________ bikers smell of wee |
