Going to get one or two of these:
www.chainoiler.co.uk

They do the following pricing for group purchases, so if anyone else is interested, we could save some money:

Buy 3 units £50.97 Get 1 Free (So you receive 4 units)
Buy 4 units £67.96 Get 2 Free (So you receive 6 units)
Buy 5 units £84.95 Get 3 Free (So you receive 8 units)
Buy 6 units £101.94 Get 6 Free (So you receive 12 units)

I'm getting one or two and a bloke at work is getting one, laura's interested as well; so saving a bit already.

I am happy to buy as soon as we got 12 as I need one of these due to being too lazy to lube it manually Razz Embarassed Laughing

Not sure if they will all get posted to the same address or not, but seems like a good deal whatever.

Note that they are basically a squeezy plastic bottle with a tube that has a couple of cut off cable ties at the end.

However it's not like the scottoiler is actually that much sophisticated (and you pay a whole load more to save the hassle of an occasionaly squeeze Smile ).

I think I'm going to have a bash at making one, if all you do is squeeze the bottle and it charges the tube with a squirt of oil, that dribbles onto your sprocket by the chain. I'm sure a "D.S.D." can be fashioned out of a WD40 tube cut in half.

From a quick glance of the site, you squeeze the bottle for a few seconds, then set off on your journey and it will carry on lubing the chain by itself.

From the FAQ :-

Quote:
How does it work?
You charge the Loobman system by gently squeezing the bottle for about three seconds (at a standstill of course) then ride away. As you ride, the oil will run down the delivery tube into the D.S.D. head and out onto the sprocket from where centrifugal force will throw it onto all essential parts of your chain and o-rings.

What i meant was, say G orders this, is he going to want to have to post out 10 ish packages to random places. Its a fair bit of hassle.

You should be able to hide it away, providing it's still accessible. Or you could paint it up with some shiny paint Smile.

I was considering one for use with a race bike... but no way for use while on the bike.

That's asking for it to empty it's contents over the tarmac as I slide along it Smile. But was thinking it would be an easyier way of oiling the chain pre-race (my usual is a finger over a funnel, with the finger resting on the chain as I spin it by hand... unless I can actually find a scottoiler-oil bottle that has a nice end Smile .)

I will enquire as to postage tomorrow, but presume they all have to be sent to the same place.

If so, I will order the 12 and can distribute and organise after.

If you're looking for anyone else to fill up the gap with, I'll jump in, but won't be disappointed if they're all taken. Not REALLY keen on one but I'm sure they'd be very helpful. Smile

Also wanting one, especially since the 125's chain is falling off due to bad maintenance, will look after the 400's chain!

I will call them up and put a new thread up tomorrow.

If more than twelve want them, others can always order another batch.
(And get a chance for us to slag them off Razz )

I wouldnt say no to one myself, look pretty decent, and quite cheaper than a Scott Oiler. I suppose 2 of them could be sent over to Dodsi's, then I could get it from his. He could also paypal both mine and his costs to make things a little easier (for myself. Laughing )
