I've never had a 50, so can't answer that.

The longest journey I did on my 4T 125 was Southampton to Swindon and back, mostly via single-carridgeway A/B roads.

About 130 mile round trip - and all I got there was a bottle of water and a sarnie!

Never had a 50 (on the road, legally), but I used to use my 100cc frequently to do a round trip of 80 miles, the longest being a trip to Hunstanton and back from Northampton, about 200 miles.

I'd have loved to have done something like this though :-

100 miles, last summer. Laborous and it broke down afterwards. Smile

Longest journey on my old Derbi Senda was about 60 miles, just around North Yorkshire. It was my only transport at the time and never really bothered taking it on long/slow/boring long rides. Razz

Using the AA route finder and only using A and B roads (avoiding motorways);

Distance 108.4 miles

Time 2 hr 34 min

(Depending on where in peterborough and where in london)

It's roughly 75 miles from Peterborough to the centre of London, if you go via Godmanchester, Royston, Ware, Cheshunt. Assuming an average of 25mph you should make it in 3 hours or less. Depends on what real speeds your fifty is capable of, and where the actual start and end places are.

its 75 from my base just north of peterborough to my house on the north edge of london going straight down the A1, problem is a lot of A1 is motorway, once you get closer to london, even when its not, its too fast a road for a 50

be a long bloody way, i'd get a train, its just i was skint when i had to go to portsmouth and back, so took the ped, only cost 6 quid or something in petrol Laughing

Couple of hours. Unlikely you can do a sustained 45 though.

just under 500km (about 300 miles) on a 1982 (If I remember correctly) V50G. I even rode over what would be at least the NZ equivalent of the South Downs, reaching a grand 30km/h (19mph) on the way up Shocked

Those were the days Sad

I dont think i could cope with anything more than 10-20 miles, not derestricted yet.

Its bloody scary doing 30 on an A Road. Especially when its windy, rainy, dark, someones fecked with your mirrors so you cant see behind you and you've only been on the road for about a week.

Closest i've come to crashing.

From stafford to abberwirthworth(sp), not my personal longest, but my best mate took a suzuki katana and another mate on a tzr50. I think it was a 200+ mile round trip, 8 hours to get there with 2 hours of that breaks lol!

80 mile round trip... in the dark and fog Mad Worst experience I've ever had, on the return journey I didn't close my visor once, and had to leave my jacket hanging up for days after (for it to dry out).

I did about 120miles in a day on a CG125, apart from it giving me a bad back, i could ride that bike all day and night if i had to, (not that i want to!) and it probably still wouldnt have used a tank of petrol! Thumbs Up
On my Speedfight100 i had to ride from near Worcester to Newport in south wales, to Taffspeed's scooter shop to have it dyno tuned and set up. I think its about 75miles each way. The problem i had riding it there was that the new clutch was biting too soon so i had to wait ages for it to pick up, and it would only run on the main jet, so i had full throttle or a dead engine. I forgot to put the kick start lever back on, and i had to restart it about 50times, so i was worried about the starter packing up and leaving me stranded. I got on the M5 for 2junctions on the way back, and about a mile before my exit the carb came off its rubber, so i had to put it back on twice to get me home!
