Looking to do engine swap/replacement on a 1968 Honda Cub 50. Already has a replacement china motor that the PO installed that isn't working.
Is there a good guide/tutorial out there for engine replacement?
- Best brand to buy.
- Directions or videos on the swap process.
- Best place to buy parts

I've done multiple ground up car restorations doing all the work myself(except shooting the paint), building the engines, trannies, interiors, etc. But it's been decades since I owned a bike(1975 Honda MT 250 Elsinore) and never had to tear that one down.

I'm figuring if I can build this 20 years ago with my daughter for her 1st car I should be able to get the Honda on the road again.

It's only a suggestion but.... the C102 was a rare beast, ( in the UK at least) an electric start, pushrod type Honda 50, but it will have had points, and a simple short to earth ignition switch. The Replacement engine will be in all probablity a CDI type, so you need to check that you have the appropriate wiring harness, Ignition switch CDI and coil. If you have the old large beige colour 2 wire coil it's the old points one. If some one has bought a new engine then surely thats the place to start , rather than another new engine.

Looking at the Mustang Page , I guess you are in the States.

A quick google found me this , lots of info manuals etc

I've been riding, and fixing , bikes for 50 years, in that time the more I learn, the less I am absolutely sure of.....
