I have filled out the form to apply for my new license, I can’t for the life of me find out the amount i have to send them for it.
That bloody recorded message is irritating.
Any one know how much??

Thanks Thumbs Up

NO! If it's a test pass it's free! (Well mine was anyway)

£19 is for a replacement V5.

send the blue form that you got when you passed, your driving licence and the counterpart. Think there is a little to fill in on the back of the blue pass cert. No money involved!

Then you get a little bike on your card!!! YAY!

Sorry.....was well chuffed with mine Embarassed

I just read the page and it says for me ‘Provisional to full’ issued before 01.03.04 (which mine was) I will need to pay £9.
Is this correct?

I was told it would be a good idea to send a photocopy of the test pass document as they might loose it.

I wasn't aware it was a test pass, but I was not wrong. From the DVLA site quoted above:

Is this your first full licence (e.g. have you got a full car licence), if so it's free.

If not you'll need to pay £9 (takes the mickey doesn't it).

Regards

Doubt they would accept photocopies, but make sure you keep photocopies of anything you send to the DVLA. It is not unknown for them to loose important info (including in the case of one person on VisorDown their HGV entitlement from their licence, resulting in several months without work and having to redo their test at a large cost).

All the best

I can confirm it's £9 if your counterpart doesn't have a little triangle near the address at the top.

But if it had a triangle the examiner would have taken it and sent it off for you. It all depends on how much you paid for it in the first palce because the prices went up, about this time last year.

So yes, a postal order for £9 payable to DVLA swansea and you'll get your little pink card.

If you're adding a category after that though it's free i.e car.

So when I added my bike it was free because I already paid to get my car one (although I sent them off at the same time.)
