Suzuki Van Van, engine rattle noise VIDEO

First of all, hello everyone!


It’s a 2013 Suzuki Van Van 125, 12500 miles on the clock, everything was working perfect. Always on fresh oil. MOT/ general service 1000miles ago

No accident, no drops etc, just started all of sudden (maybe a bit gradually) making this rattle noise as per video. Nothing has been checked yet, I’m hoping to get help from here first.

Like on a video, revving is followed by this rattle sound, sort of like a... tambourine(?).

Cam chain tensioner need adjusting?
Do you have a workshop manual? If not why not?
The troubleshooting section might be able to shed some light on the problem.

I’m still kinda new to motorbikes, but I can fix some things if I know where the problem is. That’s why I’m hoping for potential ideas.

It does sound like a camchain rustling a bit, is it a manual or an automatic tensioner. Sounds pretty quiet actually, compared to some bikes.

Compared to the cam chain on my F4i when that needed doing, that thing is silent

If it's an automatic tensioner, see if you can replace it with a manual adjustable one. They're FAR less hassle.

Btw after winding the spring up should you release it gently over the cam chain or abruptly?
