so ive owned my keewaysuperlight for around a year now, looks great but is a piece of s##t really regret buying but budget forced my hand and the shiny bits were appealing 🙈, anyway latest problem if anyone has advice would be great help.... bike starts fine first time everytime, however after a few minutes will lose power in the revs , untill it comes to a standstill, start the bike again (no problem) but will not pull away , its happened a few times now , the last time i left it a few days took it out to try it again and worked fine for a few weeks , now its done it again , not many garages keen on working on these bikes and i dont wanna throw lots of money on something only worth 1200 quid , but this is my only mode of transport , my gut instinct (and i know very little about bikes is its the clutch) but hard to
see why that would happen periodically ____________________ tmurray |

What do you mean by 'lose power in the revs?"
Does it bog down and come to a stop, does it continue to rev without driving the wheel or does it hit a point where it won't go above a certain RPM? Some other behaviour? |

To be fair, Superlights are decent little bikes, however, you've told us nothing of it's history, how it's been maintained, is it euro 3 (carb), or older, or euro 4 (efi). How do you mean bogging down, if it is older, are you riding it with the choke on full, have you checked for a vacuum lock in your tank, when it bogs down, stop, open & close the fuel cap, re-close the fuel cap, see if that makes a difference, if it does, well, you know where to look. They are a noddy bike to work on, even with limited mechanical knowledge. We've just picked up a 4 year old one for my nippers friend, been left outside in sunny Wakefield for at least 3 years, coated in roadsalt, and assorted grime, so much so that even under the seat & tank the there was a bucket load of the stuff. Just spent a few days cleaning it up, and, it looks pretty much like new, and rides fine.
Why to you does it seem like the clutch, I can't think of a time where the clutch would cause cause a bike to bog down. ____________________ Beware what photos you upload, or link to on here, especially if you have family members on them |

Lots of Superlight fans here... two of us any way
Year would be nice, any mods you've done (or were done previously.) Last time any servicing was done: oil change, plugs, valve clearances, etc. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

OK, I'd check for ..
Vaccum lock in the tank, easy to test for, when it conks out, open & clost the fuel cap, and try again ..
Check for any kinks in the fuel line..
See if you can see any gunk on the blocking the throttle body intake, or, at least check the throttle body sensors are securely plugged in.
Check the connections to the fuel pump are also secure, and haven't come loose.
More tricky, check the O2 sensor, or replace it.. You might be able to get blanking kits.. ____________________ Beware what photos you upload, or link to on here, especially if you have family members on them |

You might want to check the clutch cable is operating as expected, e.g. disconnect from engine end and work the lever.
The cable routing for the throttle was so bad on my one that I could get the thing to rev by turning the handlebars! AFAIK it was always like that from the factory.
Assuming that's okay, if you have the side off pop out the spark plug and roll the bike in and out of gear, working the clutch lever and observing the basket.
Any idea what oil was used on the last change? If you're adamant it's a clutch problem I'm wondering if the oil's affecting the clutch when it warms up. Certainly, in my experience, these bikes' gearboxes perform totally differently with fresh oil. And old, hot oil can lead to a game of "hunt the neutral." ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

when it dies does it splutter a bit first , which might suggest a fuelfault , or does it just stop going and die completely, possibly suggesting an ignition fault, ____________________ All the above is my personal opinion, you can see my lips move, but I'm talking out of my arse.
I've been riding, and fixing , bikes for 50 years, in that time the more I learn, the less I am absolutely sure of..... |

The seat is bolted down with some hex-head bolts IIRC. If you don't have the tools (spanners, socket set) to do that, errr....
But no, there's no toolkit under there. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Superlight specific parts I used to get from here:
https://www.superlightpartscentre.com/clutch-post-2011-parts
These guys know more about the bike than the importers
IIRC it has a Chinese 157FMI engine (which is based on the Honda CG125* of yesteryear) if you want to look for generic parts.
I would recommend getting the "Generic Chinese 125" Haynes Motorcycle manual or I can send you the poorly translated workshop pdf.
