There were talks of Royal Mail workers going on strike. I'm pretty sure my postman only comes every other day now.
I think RM are pretty bogged down with everyone ordering online too. I sent something on Tuesday first class signed for and the guy didn't get it until Monday morning.

I must say I haven't seen a postie today, but then I wasn't looking. My former landlady said she has re-directed four pieces of mail to me recently, but I've only received two...so who knows...? Question

The post is mostly as normal here in Wiltshire.

From last month:

"MARCH 17 2020

Royal Mail staff will delay going out on strike despite an overwhelming vote in favour on Tuesday, and could instead act as a “fifth emergency service” to deliver food and medical supplies to the elderly, union leaders said.

The ballot on Tuesday, in which more than 90 per cent of the Communication Workers Union who did vote supported strike action, is the latest in a protracted dispute over pay and working conditions at the former postal monopoly.

However, the escalating coronavirus outbreak means “it is not the right moment for us at this particular point to take industrial action,” said Dave Ward, CWU general secretary."

We still get deliveries but it's absolutely brilliant how my mail has reduced during this virus crap.

The amount of junk mail I got must have been utterly horrendous as I've gone from having a bunch of mail each day to a couple of letters a week.

You know it's good when you haven't had an 'over 50's funeral plan' from Sun Life or some other scamming bunch for a few weeks. Thumbs Up

Mind you, they might be saving what they can because they have a few extra payouts this quarter. Whistle

Waiting on 3 separate items to arrive, a star wars 9 blueray, a star wars Ps4 game and a new 9v battery connector for
one of my guitars. All are well overdue. I'm not that surprised. They would all be here already if they had been sent
by courier. I am unsurprisingly, utterly disappointed with Royal Mail.

Not just royal mail.

I'm waiting for a new office chair.
Got in touch with the supplier and they said they've had a lot of queries about late deliveries - dpd are rushed off their feet.

Personally I've found Royal Mail to be the most reliable / on time over the past few weeks but obviously it does depend on where the items are posted from, what depots they have to go through and their staffing levels due to sick leave etc.

Couriers are overwhelmed. I had a 'next day' delivery from Hermes which took 6 days to arrive and a 'next day' from DPD which took 4 days.

It is what it is... but when I finally get all the bit's and pieces I need to get this nitro r/c car up and running properly we're going for a seriously long walk!! Twisted Evil

Opposite end of Wilts to Ste and Nobby. Since last week it's a bit flakey here. I know of 5 bits of post I should have received since last Monday, 2 (earliest posted) have arrived. Post van normally parks outside my house around 1100, lately it's only been there every other day.

Our local Hermes bloke is keeping up. His tranny van is so knackered that he probably needs to max out deliveries every day just to replace the bits that fall off the van.

Can't say it bothers me really, I'd have no real issue with once a week post. I'd bet 9 out of 10 "urgent" bit's of post are just a case of people confusing want and need anyway.

Service is still normal as stuff posted first class yesterday arrived today. Mr. Green

I'm pleased the report that Hermes aren't letting Coronavirus affect the level of service they're providing as it only took them ten days to deliver a parcel that should have taken two or three. Laughing
