So I woke up this morning to find this mysterious spots/ marks on my bike. It’s parked on the street. On the chrome and mirror they are like spot-scratches and the on the plastic they bulge. Can’t be wiped off or cleaned, it’s basically a damage... It’s like someone sprayed something on it (??) left mirror is wrecked but right one is untouched.

So weird, please explain what is this??

Are there any trees overhanging it? It looks like a glue or resin.

Aphid poop - sugary secretion.
It will come off with hot water.

Sap, honeydew or drips (e.g. from lime trees), but it's a bit early; are trees in leaf where you are?

Try hot water and detergent, meths., or "sap remover" or Halfords Bug and Tar Remover, or similar. Try an inconspiuous area first....

Put a cover on it, problem goes away. Its from trees, my car is pretty dire at the minute as I park under one.

Thought you were taking the smeg to start with, in that you'd had 5 minutes of rain Laughing

It's just sap - give it a warm bath and it'll be fine. Don't let it sit too long on there though Wink

Guess the aphids are having trouble getting hold of bog rolls too.

Hahha thanks all I feel like a complete noob now. It did go off with a warm water but I swear I looked tougher than that!

I use the bike all the time so can’t be bothered with a cover, I have a chain, 2 disck locks and a steering lock though, it’s London after all...

Definitely looks like sap from a tree, Bet you're glad it's all washed off Smile

A friend of mine had a similar experience with his neighbours who were always cleaning their windscreen before they drove off in the car and it turned out their screenwash was splashing and blowing over the small fence between them and leaving spots and marks all over his car and bike Very Happy

Used to drive him crazy!
