My brother acquired a nadgered Clarke hydraulic press - ram not working.
He spent 5 mins on it before declaring it BER. I'm (a bit) more determined. Has anyone rebuilt one these? Can't be that different to
master/slave brake can it?

If all else fails, couldn't you fit a bottle jack in there? It's the arbours/frame that's the main bit really.

Only 2 things go on these.
Hydraulic fluid contaminated with air bubbles. Needs bleeding
OR
Hydraulic fluid leaking and needs the seals replacing.
Both very easy jobs.

I've found Clarke to be excellent for spare parts, there are often rebuild kits or exploded diagrams with part numbers. I usually phone them and have found them very helpful....

BER.... One mans scrap is another mans project..... or 'barn find' in the case of cars and bikes!

I agree.
Machine Mart is the place to go for Clarke spares.
Their website lists the spare parts hotline for your area.
On the few occasions I've needed spares they've posted them to me for free.

Not sure the bottle jack option is possible in this case - plan B maybe.

I have the master and salve units here. to play with now. Its 'only' a 10 ton-er but seems pretty robust and on the face of it too good to scrap. Another project for those lockdown evenings. Smile
