Scooter tyres where to buy and get fitted

My Honda Vision 110 is running or racing slicks. I live out in the sticks. Nearest place I would dare ride it to would be Barnard Castle, Richmond or Darlington. No real bikes shops in any of them but Ive emailed a couple of tyre places to see if they can fit bike tyres

Where is the best place to order them online if I have to get them myself.

I think they are 90/90 - 14 on the back and 80/90-14 on the front

The sizes of the existing tyres will be in the manual, on a sticker stuck on the front shield just below the handlebars and visible as you sit on the scooter (that sticker has been on every Honda scooter I've ridden), and stamped on the sides of the tyres. No need to guess.

It doesn't really matter where you order from IMO. Order with credit card if you want to avoid any temporary lack of cash if you need to dispute.

Expect 20 or 30 to fit per wheel, scooter rear tyres are generally harder to remove than on motorbikes. You may have an easier time if you remove the wheels yourself, if you have extra transport to take both wheels and tyres. Or bring tools and do it on site, if there's space you can use.

Have you, realistically, any chance of doing them yourself? There're plenty of posts in these forums about how to do it.

Use your favourite search engine to look for:

change tubeless tyre site:bikechatforums.com

If not, can you take the wheels off and take them somewhere to have the tyres changed (I do not think that cat tyre "while you wait" places will touch them)?

Thanks for the reply. Ive ordered the tyres off Demon Tweeks (in stock) and I have found one guy that can fit them at his premises for £40 or he can come to my house and do them for £60 and another that can fit them weekends or evenings for £30 if I go to him. To be honest the mobile fitter seems the best option. they are both about 12 miles away and I dont really fancy chugging along the A66 with racing slicks and encountering Plod asking me what Im up to and then spotting the baldies.

I Cant do them myself. Im totally fooked with Arthritis for a kick off. Would rather a pro did it anyway. I live out in the sticks and the bike is ideal for doing little runs to farm shops etc. (Well thats my excuse when the suns shining)

Job done then, one way or another, best not get stopped, 6 points + fine. I have heard that Arthur Eyetis is an abstrad. Sad

Missed your post there somehow so thanks for the reply

Tyres that are currently on say on the side of the tyres 90/90 -14 on the rear and 80/90-14 on the front so thats what I ordered. To be honest, I never bothered to look at the manual, I just looked at the side of the tyre. I think the last rear (and Ive had a few) was fitted in the south of France near St Tropez. Its done a few miles this little scooter. Laughing

Well to be fair it got most of the way there on the back of the camper van. I think we did 4000 miles on it that summer though. Seems a million miles away now though sadly. Ive never been more than a few miles from the house on it down the back roads but if I get it legal I might be able to venture a bit further for supplies etc. Its going to be a bugger for the proper bikers this lockdown. Hopefully we might be able to venture a bit further soon.
