Cracked engine casing

Hi guys
Can cracks in the engine casing be repaired. I hAve a 2 in cracking by the top mounting, so am I looking at a new engine.

Ir isn't clear to me where the crack is, in those pics.
Anyway, a good TIG welder could, in theory, repair cracks around structural engine parts. It would be good to know how it happened in the first place.

The crack is along where the mounting bolt goes through.i dont know how it happened it a bike i bought.
