I suspect my angle sensor is bad as the bike wont run. I am not sure how to test it. The resistance is high between all wires at any angle, does it need power? I assumed it was a simple mechanical switch. Sounds full of fluid if I shake it, lokks like it shoupd be, well sealed.

There are a few posts elsewhere that it can be bypassed by connecting two pins on the bike connector with paperclip.

Three wires to it, white, red/white and green.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Can't remember how to bridge one but yes you can.

What leads you to believe the tip over sensor is the problem, in my experience it never is?

What bike is it on?

You might be able to measure the voltage across it when the bike is powered to see whether it's good (mine has to see 0.4-0.9V across it for upright off the top of my head)

Agreed. It's never the alarm or the ECU either.

F4i will crank and not fire up or flash any FI error codes if the bank angle sensor is not connected. I found this out after trying for 5 mins to start one with the headlight multi connector disconnected.

It's possible if you're seeing similar that it has bad connection or is knackered, you can check the pins in the multi connector first.

haha yeah exactly the same thing happened to me, figured it out after ages spent trying to deactivate the alarm!

I can't remember the wires to bridge, I think it is green and red/white, I will check tomorrow and let you know if you like? (assuming it's on an F4i??). I bridged them in the female end of the multi connector after un plugging it with some normal electrical wire, you could probably use a paperclip as long as you're not intending it to be permanent, i.e. it is just to test. Otherwise, if you want to bypass the BAS permanently, do a proper crimp or solder job on the relevant wires.

Had a good look at wiring diagram and it appears to disable the fuel pump, which I can hear is primed and running so it is not this.
I find this odd, disabling the pump, as the fuel rail will be pressurised, I would have expected a signal to the ECU to disable spark and injectors. That said, so does the kill switch and it always stops the bike instantly.

Have been busy, not tried to run her yet since the plugs went back in.

To bypass, it is red and blue together, which powers a relay. when it tips I assume the relay input gets grounded, green. I have not measured it under power.

Tip sensor disables fuel pump?

If the bike tips from a crash you wouldn't want a ruptured fuel line still pissing out petrol 'cos the pump's still going!
