About 2 months ago I was in Vietnam coupled with a Suzuki gd110 touring the country. I'd been used to more western bikes, a lot bigger and heavier, but this little machine was a real pleasure to ride and light enough to pick up and plop into parking spots or other tight spaces.

I'm looking to buy one here, however I've had a quick search and they aren't sold in Europe anywhere.

It seems there are a fair handful of Chinese options going for <£1000, so I'm asking any Chinese bike riders or anyone else in the know what the best option would be for me,

That is almost identical to the Suzuki gs125 of my yoof.
If you could find a decent early Suzuki gs 125, I’ll bet you will find it to be very similar.

I’ll bet you won’t find a good tidy one for £800.

Closest thing in the Uk is probably a CG125. OHV rather than OHC but otherwise, you'd struggle to tell them apart. Power output about the same.

Hyosung GF125? They're thin on the ground. They do use the same motor as the Cruise 2 though, 15bhp 4v single.

I had a looked after 2001 CG125 for 6 years (alongside bigger bikes). Carbed, but exceptionally easy to look after and it never had any major faults. It had drum brakes front and rear, they were crap but adequate and I never had any problems stopping. I used it regularly for commuting and rode it all over the Scottish Highlands a few times. It was a cracking little machine. I only sold it last year after buying my CRF250L but it went to my next door neighbour who sadly isn't maintaining it very well so it's now showing a bit of rust after the winter

I'd easily have a other CG (lots of crap examples around, but easy to sort out. I think I spent £400 on mine to buy and about £600 on a refurb that made it almost as new.

YBRs and the like are very similar. Any semi modern jap 125 will fill the same gap, and some of the Chinese (etc.) Bikes are decent now if looked after.

Honda cg looks like the best option for me.
I'm not familiar with the Chinese brands yet, trying to study them a bit and certainly considering them.
