Hi all,

Apologies as I know this topic has probably been discussed thousands of times before.

I passed my test in France where they have a different policy on bike licenses. I swapped for a UK license years ago (photo attached)

What I'm trying to find out is whether I can ride a 125 with the info on my license? If so do I need L plates or not? I have not done a CBT in the UK.

Thanks in advance.[/img]

No, you've not got a motorcycle licence there. If you'd passed your test in France it should, I think, have transferred over when you swapped your licence from French to UK.

The code 79(3) is for tricycles.

At the moment, you'd need to get a CBT certificate and then you could ride a 125 motorcycle whilst displaying L Plates.

The picture shows you have an A1 licence with the information codes 01 and 70F. 01 means you need to wear eyesight correction and 70F means it is a licence exchange from France. The expiry is 2056 so it looks like you are good to go on a 125 up to 11kW.
