Hey, so an interesting thing happened and now I have a 81 CB750 in my garage.

Anyway, a lot of stuff needs to come off, and I'd like to lift the bike some to make it easier. I have two metal structures with a wood top (part of stage system) that are strong, but can't really think of an easy way to lift ~220kg ~50cm or move it up a ramp with flat tires.

I was going to buy a bike/atv lift. But the bottom of the bike is far from flat, exhaust sticks out, engine sticks out like mount Everest, no flat angles at all.

Any cheap/small-ish ideas or am I gonna have to keep this on the ground floor.

Thanks Mr. Green

Bet 2 people can push that up a ramp, even with flat tyres.

Failing that try 3.

That means having 2 friends, or 1 friend and a willing wife. Not everyone has these assets.

Dam you, trying to make me think of helpful suggestions! Laughing

Ratchet straps (proper truckers ones). Easily lift the bike directly upward from the rafters. Then place stage under bike and lower in to place. Would be best with 2 people though, I've done it in my garage alone and it's a bit of a juggling act trying to do 2 straps and stop the bike swinging about.

Full disclosure... I've only ever lifted mine at most 12" using this method.

Might struggle to get 50cm at once but you can lift both wheels a fair way off the ground on the sidestand.

Damn I'd love to see a bike swing and jump on it Mr. Green

The ceiling is covered with cement board or whatever it's called, but is an idea.

I did think getting a friend over to help push, I used some long boards to get my cb400 in a van when I got it, but I'm afraid of joining this club Laughing

Sh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!t. I used to do that on my 125 a lot, but never thought of dropping that much weight on it Shocked might actually be the best option, I can do it in increments I think...

Pulling the roof in will make the willing wife an unhappy helper.

I've been using this technique for years. Works a treat.

How's your marriage? What if the bike were to fall and trap her underneath?

I have to say that could have been a possible scenario about this time last year, but we agreed to break up before it got to that point Laughing
