i put a new engine in my bike as the engine i took out had a problem with the output shaft either being bent or the bearing has gone, local bike mechanic with 20+ years experience said he's 90% sure its the bearing .
well being a car mechanic but never having worked on bikes as such (even though i own 3 lol ) i thought i'd use this chance to learn so decide to strip this engine down and maybe repair it , as the top end is very good and there was no problem with the gearbox.
now the problem i have is , i have took the clutch apart, took the plates out and i'm trying to get the clutch basket off and i can't , is pressed on ? do i need some sort of special tool ? if so what tool ? i've tried looking on a number of different sites and the only tool i can see fits inside the basket Question

Hehe, yes that usually is the case Smile

Does look like it should just pull out. I notice from pictures of clutch baskets ppl are selling that there's the basket and three cogs behind all as one piece. If there's anything interfering with or holding in that main large cog you won't be able to pull the whole thing out.

Apologies for not knowing your specific model, only guessing.

In cbr6 manual, clutch outer is driven by a scissor gear, a pin is inserted to align and unload the gear teeth so the clutch outer can be pulled. Not something I have tried but could be what is holding it in.
