If I wanted to get a bike transported from the home counties up to Manchester, does anyone have a rough idea what sort of prices these "bike couriers" charge? I'd rather not enter all my details etc. and get pestered just to get a price. Are they half decent generally? Alternative is a rent a van and drive it there/back, but there's a fair amount of time involved, plus hire costs and fuel. It's only a light bike, circa 100kg, so two people can lift it in/out of the van easily enough I reckon.

Cheers

Should be about 120, 100 if you're lucky.

Try Shiply;

You can post your job, then couriers quote for your business. Managed to have a guy pick up a bike in Blackpool and deliver it to London for £80.

Most of them have a look and if they have a run going past your collection and drop off, its usually worth their while to pick up a couple more jobs on route.

Put in fake details? You’ll probably get the quote from the website anyway, if you don’t you haven’t lost anything but a couple of minutes.

Last couple of times I have done it through shiply I've paid £80-100. Some people quoting are just a couple of blokes with a van and a bit of wood for a ramp, so you may want to choose a more expensive quote to get someone more experienced in moving bikes around.
