What would this hole in airbox be for?

This is the bottom of a zxr 750 airbox. Spout on right hand side which is plugged off was/is where the airbox drain tube should be.


But what the fuck is the hole smack on the bottom for? Baffling me


My guess was intake... and its meant to be left open?

most likely from an engine breather vent .. my zzr14 has something very similar .. incidentally it idles/ runs a bit crap if i forget to connect it up ... the rubber hose just pushes into the hole..

I'd go with crankcase breather too.
