A pair of dangerous riders overtaking one of our unmarked cars on solid white lines and do same 4 more times. A short clip from the 2 mile horror show. Blue lights and siren on, oblivious we were behind. Stopped, disqualifications applied for.

Own up who was it lol lol lol

				| The police potato cam does make it look as if they were deliberately leaning the bike over to go round corners - that can't be safe. | |

				| I'd call that pretty dangerous TBF, and I've been busted for speeding 7 or 8 times over 30-odd years.____________________

				| Fair point but you can often safely overtake swiftly with a bike and barely cross the solid lines they don't mean 'overtaking not allowed'
Crossing solid line is actually permitted for a range of reasons including passing very slow vehicle - it wouldn't stand up in court with that video though

				| Yeah, can't see a huge problem in that video. First, it's clear that the unmarked car was moving pretty slowly, in a line of slow-moving cars. Can't see any road junctions there. The lead rider was making the call as to visibility, and the second rider took the second overtake relying on the first rider's decision and his own brakes (on a capable and modern sports bike) to tuck in, in case something happened. There are certain roads with double-white lines where drivers inch along very slowly, and there's enough time to pull off a quick overtake, using the acceleration of a bike, even if there's a bend up ahead.
What strikes me is the perception of speed. The police don't mention how fast the bikes were travelling, and overtaking a vehicle is always safest when it's done as quickly as possible. The relative speed of the cars vs the bikes in that clip seems to have inspired a slew of furious comments on Twitter. Nobody bothered to have a shot at "photogrammetry". The criticisms all seem to be on the lines of "why should he be allowed to get away with breaking a rule", and they then tie this in with wild claims about speeding and "drag racing strips" on roads local to them. Nasty little bit of tittle-tattle going on there. Is this what the lockdown has brought us? What happened to "if you ride fast and crash, you're a bad rider", "myob", etc.
