Forgetting to turn off indicators

Something we've probably all done at one point. On the Rebel the tell-tale is nice and high up on the clock. On father-in-law's Bonnie it's way down on the tank panel where you'll never notice

Without going down the Harley route of push buttons and tilt sensors / timers I was thinking I could rig him up some rider facing LEDs on the handlebars. Something like this:

...but strip out the push button for a straight panel lamp.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Just get in the habit of turning them off as you enter the turn. It’s not difficult.

Doesn't everyone frequently thumb the indicator button without even checking? Just me and my OCD then. Although I call it CDO because that's alphabetical.

Kawasaki Gt750 had timer to cancel them, odd times it would stop too soon. Would that be somehow illegal or frowned on now it certainly didn't catch on.

Many moons ago This was a problem for a friend of mine.
We cured his problem by doing the following.

We got an old broken indicator lense.
Drilled a small hole in the back of the front indicators and a tiny hole in the reflectors.
We then cut and shaped and glued part of the broken lense over the holes in the indicators but not the reflectors .

When he turned the indicators a little bit of light would show up at the back of the indicators.
Now he could see which side was flashing


However we all ride cheap & cheerful old bikes so concourse condition was not an issue for us

I've got an alloy forwards/backwards C90 indicator switchgear mounted on the right hand side of my Bullet. It looks very neat. I never leave it on because it's such a PITA to use, I just do hand signals.

Change gear, cancel indicator seem to work for me.

I have the opposite problem in my car (old grandad Vectra estate, perfect for me). I can't keep the bloody indicators on, the slightest touch of the steering wheel and they go off, I usually have to put them back on about 3 times approaching a roundabout or a turn into a side road.
