So, the other Saturday whilst cleaning the jalopy, I noticed the exhaust was rusty Confused , I'd never noticed that before. As I looked at it I realised a nice shiny part was missing, which normally hid it Crying or Very sad . Then it dawned on me that that clattering I heard the other week, was it falling off, I thought I'd just run over something!! So off I went to retrace my route to see it it was still around, as it's a bloody awkward part to replace. Now I couldn't quite remember exactly where I heard that clatter, but would have a gander anyway.
As I was about to get on, I noticed the sissy backrest was loose, with the top screw missing, and I thought I will sort that as soon as I get back Tut Tut .

Well I never found the exhaust heatshield/cover, but neither did I ever see that sissy backrest again either. To further my woes, I managed to break a buckle on my fuck off leather back box Crying or Very sad , and then finally whist tightening the bracket that holds my windshield on (cos I detected a slight movement) I managed to crack the plastic bracket on the handlebar off Mad WTF....

Have decided...
1. Ordered new backrest, will add my own fixings & not rely on the crappy bit of wood inside to hold the screws.
2. Ordered new buckles, but need to play with the riveting.
3. Will make my own handlebars brackets from aluminium and polish them.
4. Will make my own exhaust heatshield from stainless.

This biking malarkey is consuming a lot of my time, but I'm enjoying it.

Laughing Now that is sound advice, however I didn't ...I did however fit one of these..

...replace both buckles on the back box so they matched, and replaced the sissy backrest, this time I bolted it on.

..Decided the RHS headlamp LED was failing (about 50% of the cells had gone out) whilst reaching for the new lamp the glass fell out Brick Wall

ARGH! it just doesn't end does it.

On a good note:- got my test booked... not saying when ...don't want to jinx it. Ah fuck it... the 10th Sept, just hope it doesn't Rain and/or it's not too bloody hot.
