*opens the can of worms*
Makes me wince because the first thing people see in shops like J&S or online at places like Sportsbikeshop is their 8/11 mm chains that are basically pointless. I've been there, and I'm glad I escaped without an attempt on them.
If I was going to spend a huge chunk of money on a 22 mm (at which point I'd have to ask myself if I was being paranoid, or if I actually needed it would a bike be worth the stress of owning) then it wouldn't be Oxford. Never touched it, so can't comment, but the brand to me isn't worth a penny.
Ironically the only product I'd touch of theirs is a cheap disc-lock because its convenient at times, but that accompanies a few other things at which point if they've surpassed then I've saved myself loosing more money.
So what have you got for out and about? If you've sunk a huge sum in a 22 mm for at home that's great, but that isn't going anywhere beside where its fixed to in a hurry. Presuming you commute. ____________________ The do it all, T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶r̶o̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶,̶ ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶i̶g̶ ̶l̶u̶m̶p̶,̶ ̶C̶h̶o̶n̶g̶ ̶N̶o̶o̶d̶l̶e̶ |

Its all about slowing the thief down and also forcing him to make a lot of noise.
Giving us owners a chance to catch the bastards!
I have 2x 7 foot locking gates at side of house
a brick built garage with reinforced door and 3 locks
bike inside with 2x ground anchors and alarm
2x 19mm almax chains
All this is covered by 8 CCTV cameras and a ring doorbell.
Its not impossible to steal my bike, but its impossible to do it without alerting me and the dogs ____________________ You know you are old when you're told to slow down by your doctor and not the police. |

Is that not bordering on paranoia? If someone steals my bike then good luck to them. I hope the new owner does a high side and falls on his head. Thankfully we have insurance for such incidences of theft. How much does all that security knock of your insurance premium?
I just cover the disklock in dog shit just for some laughter after my bikes been nicked. |
