So after hitting the ripe old age of 40, and having my mid life crisis. I decided to buy another sports bike.
I have been wanting to do some more track days for a few years, but could not afford the money to spend on a sports bike for track.
upon surfing FaceBay I came across this, expecting it to have been snapped up, I was surprised to find that is was still available.
The advert read.
Clutch stuck on so chains been removed
Battery dead
front forks extremely soft
runs OK been off road since 2009
Now as long as the engine ran I was happy enough to sort the rest so I went to view it. Man, was it a sight! a very poor street fighter conversion, mangled wiring harness and was so loud even on tick over you needed to raise your voice.
But it did indeed run with a jump.
So after I beat him down to just over 400 ponds I came back the next day to pick the poor boy up to give some love.

Oh and stick a less shouty exhaust system on. I'd be tempted to take the loom off and go through it from end to end, may as well remove all the road circuits while you are at it. |
Already done the loom, removed all lighting circuits and flasher stuff. I am ordering some linear springs for the front fork and a new rear shock eventually.
Tires are a bit more difficult. only make the BS 090 for the 18" rear wheel, however, I can get some track-only CR11 tires, but these cost the same each as a pair of the 090.
Exhaust I am changing again, but have just made a link pipe, from a free original I obtained.
