Haven't been on here for years! So glad to see it's still running...!

Haven't owned or ridden a bike in all that time and got offered a 1995 Honda C90 in bits... anyway, got it (mostly) back together now and have a few minor things i can't get my simple head around.

1. Drive chain - ordered a new one, cant seem to get it to fit! Got the rear wheel pushed right forward and adjusters loosened right off, but still seems about half a cm too tight to get the link in. The original chain that came off it is the same, making me think its me (rather than the bike).

2. Tappet cap/cover on the cylinder head is slightly leaking oil... does anyone know if these are gasket/o-ring? And can i just whip off and replace/re-seat? I can't quite tell if when i remove it there will be something sprung underneath you see.

3. I've managed to get it running... but it smokes a little bit around the exhaust / cylinder head, almost feels like it's getting too hot possibly. Running too lean?? What's the best way to check/sort?

Thanks!

1) Make sure it's in neutral so that when you try and pull both ends of the chain together the front sprocket spins freely so that you can take up any slack at the other side of the run.

2) It'll be an o-ring. Should be relatively easy and cheap to get one.

3) If the tappet cover is leaking the odds are its dripping.......
right onto the exhaust.
