So my ns125r failed mot today for bad tyres which i knew was going to happen at some point. I have been looking for a new set for a while with no luck and now i am really in a bind.

Stock size is 3.25 16 front and 3.50 18 rear. Converted they are 90/90 16 front and 110/90 18 rear.

I can get rears in the size i need but the front is a real challenge, especially if i want a matching set of tyre brands.

Is it possible to fit a 100/90 16 tyre on the front of the ns125r or maybe a 100/80? Both of those sizes are still available.

Or does anyone have a source for odd tyre sizes?

The 100/80 will be a better fit for the diameter, can you fit a tyre a centimetre wider in the mudguard?

3.50-16 is 110/90 R16 and 3.25 16 is 100/90 16.

Putting different profile tyres on the bike will mess with the handling.

If you go here

https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/motorbike-tyres-3.5---18/

and here

https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/motorbike-tyres-3.25---16/

you can get matching tyres of the stock sizes.

That was the first tyre place I googled so can't actually see your problem.

I should have said a name brand tyre if possible. Plus with those ones listed only 2 can be made a matched pair and they are more like dirt bike tyres.

I use tyreleader.
They are cheapest.
But..... Some idiot bikeshops refuse to fit tyres that they didn't supply.
As far as I'm concerned that shuts those arse-wholes down for me.

What I'm suggesting is that you find a shop.eilling to fit tyres that you supply.

Tyreleader sell all makes and almost all sizes but the only tiny detail is that since they come from Germany they 'can' be a wee bit slow in arriving if you opt for their free delivery.
They do provide an option to express deliver if you are impatient.

Ive always found that 125s are a bastirt to find tyres for. The bigger size bikes have a better variety to choose from.

Don't try to re-invent your wheels. The rims are designed to take a very specific size of tyre.
Even if the tire fits it may not be correct.

But 90/90 is a different size to standard.

Talk to some local motorcycle tyre places to see what they have to say.

In typical Honda fashion they went through a spate of fitting odd sized front tyres matching a 16 front to an 18 rear when they should've put 17's on from the off, most of the VFR4's of the era were the same...

As for your dilemma I can't really make a suggestion as I deliberately avoided Hondas of that era for that very same reason, Fireblade ring any bells for anyone...

To wide and it'll slow down your turn in and possibly cause to to run wide on tighter corners...
