Hi all been on eBay looking for scrambler style tyres for a project but I can't seem to find ones in a matching pair for the size I want any recommendations? The wheels are 2.5" by 17" front & 3.5" by 17" rear. Cheers in advance.

If you put the sizes in to GOOGLE they bring up a heap of just what you are looking for from many places... Rolling Eyes

3.5" will be written as 3.50 and 2.5" will be 2.50 so search for "3.50 17"

Not a whole lot in 17" because it's more a road size.

Imperial size tyres have a 90% profile so you could also look for a 110/90 instead of a 3.50.

2.5" is very narrow. Probably pushing 80/90. What's it going on?

So that is the rim dimension ----rather than the tyre size?

Is that the outside dimension of the rim?

Steel or ally rims.

Hi the wheels come from a derbi senda. They would've originally been fitted with 100/70/17 on the front & a 130/70/17 on the rear. The rims are alloy. There's a bloke on youtube who fitted scrambler style tyres on his honda NTV650 I did message him but he doesn't answer messages. When I got the bike it was missing quite a bit mainly bodywork so I was thinking of going retro with it & doing a flat tracker replica but if I can't get the tyres I'll probably just put it back to a supermoto (I use the term loosely). Cheers for the comments.

Actually it doesn't I tried that already. Rolling Eyes I can find the rear no problem but not the front. I like the michelin sirac tyres but they don't seem to do a 17" front in it.

Hi thanks for that. Kenda do the size I was looking for but I don't know anything about them I've seen their tyres on mountain bikes but I don't know if they're a good brand or not. I don't scrimp when it comes to tyres/brakes.

Fit road tyres then. Any roadgoing/dualsport offroad/grasstrack style tyres are automatically a compromise, not particularly good offroad, not as good as they might be on road. The better they are offroad, the worse they will be onroad. You are sacrificing function for aesthetics unless you intend to ride it offroad.

They make some superb road tyres in the right size for those wheels.

Thaty said, nobody makes truly shite road tyres these days, not like they used to. Some will be better than others.
