can we PLEASE enable YouTube embedding?

So far as I know, phpBB boards have a simple way to enable admins to give posters the ability to embed youtube links, so that the video thumbnail etc. show up when linked to.

I can't think of a reason to not do this - it's extremely unlikely that a youtube thumbnail will contain any dodgy imagery. The main argument would be that admins haven't got time to uhm admin it. In which case - as you were.

As far as I can remember, this forum is built off phpbb 2 and has been very heavily customised.

I expect phpbb 3 (i.e. the one after the version this is based on) came out before YouTube was even a thing, so it certainly won't be a case of ticking something.

I doubt it'll happen!
