Hello all, I have currently got a Derbi Senda Xtreme 50 2018 model with electrical issues.

Brake light is constantly on but when you press the brake level forward it comes off, so i have ordered a new stop switch due to being faulty i believe.

The main issues which i cant find the fault is the headlight and tail light doesn't work. I have checked the bulbs, fuses and all connections and are fine and even the earths. I know this runs from the stator but for a 2018 model would you say this needs replacing?

The other issue is the rear left indicator doesn't work, again I have checked the bulb and connections are seems fine.

Can somebody please help.

Thanks

You need a multimeter to check at various points. You can buy one for less than a tenner at Screwfix and various other places.

Got one on order, I’ll see what I can find from using it. I have a feeling it’s the flasher unit for the indicator and the stator just shocked that the bike isn’t that old and already having issues.

Check the headlight switch and the connector going to it for corrosion or bad contact or broken wire.

Headlight/tail light - Are you checking with the engine running? If they are direct lighting off the stator, then they will only work if the engine is running.

If it's just the rear left indicator then the problem isn't with the flasher unit, it's with that indicator. If the bulb is fine, check the wiring to it. Chances are something is unplugged, chafed or broken.

It is not unusual to have problems like that on a bike like that. 50s and 125s are made as cheaply as possible and owned by teenagers who mess with them.

If the brake light goes off when you press brake lever forward it suggests switch is good and lever needs adjustment.

Intrigued as to how you tested bulbs, fuses, connections, earth, without a multimeter.
