They had a reputation for corrosion causing issues on the wiring loom.
I always fancied one though. I also always thought they were crying out for a Rickman nose fairing. Doesn't appear anyone else did by the lack of pictures of them on the internet

I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

I own an SRX 600, it's actually 605cc according to the manufacturer stamp on the barrel, check your V5, mine says 600cc, never done anything about it though!
As far as spares go, the engine is based on the XT600, so some parts are interchangeable.
Based on conversations I've had with an owner, at the Classic TT, the front suspension, wheel and brake system are XJ600, of the same era.
Big problem is replacing the exhaust, the guy I was talking to had to have one made, although he hadn't bothered with the collector box, under the engine, so a straight through megaphone, sounded very nice.
An easy bike to ride, lots of grunt, mine is very easy to start from cold but it can be a bugger to start from hot, sometimes!
AFAIK, they were never officially imported into the UK, they did quite well in the states and they were popular in mainland Europe, I believe there was a race series for them but can't remember if that was the states or Europe!
Enjoy! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |
