Evening all (well morning..!).

New face here, however I thought that given most people here would be going through DAS or other ventures in, do we have a clear steer from Boris as to whether lessons can continue or not within Tier 4 areas?

I am in Cambridgeshire which is now moving to T4 as of Boxing day, so it looks like the lessons and MOD1 that were planned for January may have to be bumped out.

Anyone else affected in the same way?

Yep !! I contacted my school in January and booked my das for march. Full lockdown happened so had to rebook for August. On second day of das I lost my wallet with my licence in so had to postpone course. Went back beginning of December failed mod 1 rebooked for Jan so now will probably be moved again. So it will be over a year from when I placed my first email to when I get to do my mod 1 again.

"England
In England, driving lessons and motorcycle training can take place in areas in Tiers 1, 2 and 3.

You must not provide driving lessons and motorcycle training in areas in Tier 4 unless it’s with someone from your household during an essential journey. You must not travel out of a Tier 4 area to teach somewhere else.

London, parts of South-East England and parts of the East of England are currently in Tier 4."

Relatively simple there, thanks Very Happy Will wait for 4th Jsn where I'll no doubt get a note from the DSA cancelling my Theory.

Big question now is whether to hold out to see if restrictions lift or look to pick up a 125 and get riding a little over the next few months.

I decided to get riding on a 125.
About a week after I bought my 125, they knocked us into Tier 4. It was just as well that I bought my bike when I did!

I think with things the way they are at the moment, I think I'll be following suit.

Cambridgeshire was bumped from T2 to T4 Boxing Day, however without going into the politics of it I doubt that will be ending any time soon! Just need to decide how much to plumb into this temporary ride now.
