... with 'L' plates. Very Happy

My test is 10.40 tomorrow morning, so have spent this morning making sure everything is oiled, cleaned or inflated. Then rode to the test centre to see how long it takes to get there so I can leave tomorrow in plenty of time.

Went to the supermarket on the way back to pick up some beer and pizza so I can celebrate/drown my sorrows tomorrow afternoon. And remembered to fill up the tank so I don't run out of gas! Bike is parked up now just waiting for the morning.

Any last minute tips you want to share?

Good luck!!! just try and not be nervous i know its easier said than done,

They are also very sneaky you think that its a one way radio so you can only hear what they are saying but they can hear what your bike is doing and what you say so i suggest on every turn say what you need to do eg. right shoulder look , lifesaver then you wont forget. also drive to the test centre as if you are on your test so do all the looks etc p.s dont leave your indicater on.

post how you did! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Don’t act like you know everything and act cocky, if you feel quite good about the day, use it to your advantage act a bit worried. Act confidently on the road.
Do make small talk and speak polity, don’t say “Innit” or “Safe” I doubt you would anyway. Lol
Do the thing you think you might forget the most like those life savers and indicators, s/he will let you off a few though.

The controlled stop is just that, please don’t fail by skidding, use a lot of front brake and make the forks go down near the very end. (make it obvious)

If he asks you to pull over at a convenient spot make sure it is, and make sure you are not really close to the curb or you will have to pull away uncomfortably.

Don’t think s/he is behind you just imagine you have a voice in your head telling you what to do.
Don’t hesitate

Good luck mate, we are all behind you! Thumbs Up

Crack a joke with the examiner beforehand to ease the relation. If he's happy or amused then he'll be a bit easy on you. Get a good night's sleep and you'll be A OK! Oh, if you want to aim for 2 minors Thumbs Up, make that a target and you'll feel at ease with yourself.

LOL DLAM - the radios are strictly ONE WAY - which is why u can hum, sing or say anything you like under the lid during the test!

Oh forgot to mention - all the best for the test !

Good luck !

Remain calm.. act confident and happy, but don't act a wise ass.. show him a responsible rider.

Don't let nerves get the better of you... this is not life and death, it is only a simple test that can be repeated in the near future.

do what i did

when they say to you warm up the bike and get ready for the test

and they bugger off to their bike or car

take a while to focus on the test and take a load of deep breathes

and calm yourself down

worked wonders for me and i was a calm as you like when i set off

best of luck mate

you can do it

Sounds a bit weird but tonight when you go to bed run through everything in your mind. Visualise yourself riding along the road and performing all the lifesavers etc in the correct order that you would in real life.

Visualise yourself pulling away, coming to a stop, u-turn etc and make sure you repeat it in your head perfectly.

Then all you have to do is go out there and repeat it Very Happy

Thanks for all that.

So no-one thinks that a couple of quick pints to calm my nerves before the test are a good idea? (joke!)

You'll probably find that once the test is underway you don't feel at all nervous. You don't have time to, just concentrate on what you're doing and remember its a test - 40 minutes of riding properly is quite a long time, your mind can wander.

Don't do anything silly like forgetting to cancel your indicators as you turn out of the test centre.

Talk yourself through a mental checklist as you're riding - observations, indicators, life-savers etc etc.

Good luck Thumbs Up
