I like EBC stuff, I have never had a bad experience with it, but there does definitely seem to be a recent forum herd moving in the direction of criticising the products.

If you drill down into it, it's usually people who have experienced an EBC pad causing problems back in the 80s or something and have retained that negative image since then.

It's very risky to put a public email address on this forum BTW, you will get some very strange and possibly obscene feedback. It would be a lot better for you to stay here and try to address the criticism by contributing to the community rather than making a single post with an email address on it.

I personally would not have any brake pads or discs other than OEM, EBC or Brembo... but each to their own.

Brake discs look like shit and are not that cheap. I picked up a set of OEM discs for my GSXR1100 from a dealer for less than the EBC equivalent.

I have had bad experiences with EBC green pads back in the 90's which put me off buying any again. I would choose OEM pads or failing that SBS for performance applications and Goldfren for general road use.

Clutch kits not too bad, generally correct profile and plate thickness.

Thanks, We appreciate that not every comment received will be of a positive nature, but We are here to listen and resolve any specific issues. The email address can be used for detailed feedback or for issues relating to a specific product/purchase.

Always use HH ones and always buy from reputable sources.

The only time I had an issue was by a bike shop which sourced and fitted them and they seemed to be made of cheese.

I normally use wemoto and the like. No issues with any of the ones I've got from them.

I'd never get them from ebay.

Thing is EBC are a proper company and offer a wide range of different friction materials.
If a rider orders an unsuitable range of pad, it will fit fine, it just won't work right, either fading like fury at speed, or conversely never getting hot enough to work properly ( the classic being 'Extreme Racing' grade pads in a 125).

Then of course is the problem of fake parts. Plenty of those around in the motor and motorcycle trades. The 'better' your brand the more likely that there are fake products being produced to be flogged off cheap on a certain online auction site.

So we can buy your products direct from you, mail order ?

You have an on line catalogue for all your products with dimensioned drawings etc. ?

Are you branching into hydraulic brake components abd spares such as seal kits and individual gaiters, like for bike brake master cylinder piston gaiters as well ?

1. Can you please post info on how to spot fakes of your products. Or, will this actually make those fakes eventually harder to spot?

2. Can you please post definitive information on if/when backs of pads should be greased?

Thanks for your comments. Buying direct from EBC is always the best way to avoid fake parts.

Exactly the same post on a Few forums I see now,
EBC have always been shite, dusty greenstuff to squeaking red`s,
You never seem to take the feedback you crave, as I said on the other forum . . . free advertising is all you are doing.

Thanks for your reply and for following our threads on a number of forums. Very Happy Obviously most users use more than one forum, as do We!

We are receiving some very positive feedback from many forum users, and as with any product there will always be those who don't like a product or have encountered past issues. This Bike forum would not be relevant to your GreenStuff and RedStuff pad comments as they are specifically for cars, not bikes!

Perhaps you would like to discuss further with us what part numbers you have used and on which vehicles and in what years, We can then look at your specific issues in more detail.

We 'crave' all feedback, negative or positive but for us to be able to 'take the feedback we crave', We have to actually be able to refer back to a certain product or genuine customer issue!

Perhaps you could also let us know what We are advertising as We do not post any products or links to any sales sites and all We have posted is a company name, and those who are genuinely using car and bike forums would already be aware of EBC and their products.

Please do update us...…..

Hi, Yes you can buy from EBC Brakes Direct and our website does contain dimensioned drawings etc.

We are not producing the additional products you have mentioned.

Thanks

I'd ignore Back Scuttler if I were you. He's the forum's resident prick.

I would like to volunteer for some product testing on a bike with know poor brakes from new.

A set of front brake pads to start with....maybe different grades....for testing....then a disc and pads.......interested ?

I can do some scientific testing, same speed, same bit of road, but a roller brake test would be the best, more precise and consustant controlable conditions, and a bit safer.

But the acid test is in the real world.

Pm me if interested 😎

Of all the brake pads I have tried in this bike, the full friction area Armstrong pads seemed the best.

I can't seem to get them now...

Hi EBC, not a good start.

Just been on your website and the bike select model box does not work !

I only tried the bike discs and pads.

I notice you do brake lines, off to have a look-see...

Revisited your site, car reg entered, no products found.

Entered make, ok
Entered model, it don't work !

I am using an internet phone.
A blue speech bubble lit up which I ignored.

You owned by Bill gates by chance ?
