Best cruiser for 150 mile weekly commute

Just seeking some advice,
Im looking at cruisers, to use for travelling to work, which consists of a 150 mile trip, twice a week. Other then that general day to day.

Been considering harley davidson sportsters or yamaha xvs950 bolt

Anyone have any other opinions or options they might advise or suggest?

Any cruiser except a Harley l'd say!
Triumph made one called the America, but l'm not sure if it is sold in the UK, but all the Jap cruisers are more than efficient & also look the part.
Try them for size because if you have long legs (over 32" inseam) something like the missus's Honda Shadow 750 is cramped, although such a relatively short distance wouldn't have rigor mortice setting in even on a monkey bike!

None of them. Jap ones behave tolerably but they don't give particularly good visibility and many other bike handle much better.

Oy ride one if you are into arseless leather chaps.

I'll be polite: American cruisers are not a good value proposition

150 miles? is that round trip or each leg? Either way, depends on the roads. Loads of 70mph motorways and dual-carriageways I wouldn't recommend the Rebel but if it's lots of small roads then it's ideal, especially for city roads.

Any reason for the cruiser aesthetic? Personally I like the more classic look (which tends to include cruisers) and I moved onto the XSR700. Much more comfortable for longer distances IMHO than the Rebel I used to have.

The Triumph mentioned is the Speedmaster. You might also consider the monotony of the Kawasaki Vulcan.

Cruisers are not particularly well suited for all-weather commuting (assuming this will be your main/sole commuting tool). As mentioned, visibility isn't great, handling not the best and there are limitations to what you can carry (topbox on a cruiser would look daft). For a commuting tool that suits shorter leg length as you mention, something like an ER6 or similar semi-faired commuter bike. Reliable, simple, good ergos and with a small fairing and/or screen it should provide sufficient all-weather protection.

Why a cruiser? Do you enjoy getting your spine compressed every time you hit a bump in the road? If so, get one with "forward controls" for maximum cool factor and maximum spine compression. Ape hangers will help you display your tattoos.
