Hi Guys.

Whats the best way to make up some templates for graphics? I need to make some up for the bodywork on my FZR track bike, so I can get a company to print them out on vynil for me.

I basicly need to make the templates for this.

Take a look at this list of graphic design software (links below) - some of the packages are free and should do the job.

The software listed are alternatives to Adobe Illustrator (graphic design industry software - but expensive for a one-off project)

The free software on the list should be just as good as Illustrator for producing something like a motorcycle decal.

You can design a basic template on Photoshop or equivalent also.

I saw them, but they are for dirt bikes unfortunatly. I need to make the templates for the number panels and the gold stripes, and gold triangels.

Said some cool stuff about software.

I have AI so no issue there, its more of the case of making the physical template to get the correct sizes and shapes before placing into the computer.

Probably a better way of doing it, but I've made a template in Photoshop before and then printed it out using Adobe Reader onto multiple A4 pages and then used that to see if it's the right size and what not. Mine was quite a simple side panel that I then used the template to cut out some vinyl with.

I've sent some designs off to general vinyl printers. I think I still have the print-ready "Hardly Davidson" design somewhere Laughing

Apart from the sizing (print demo on A4, cut out and sellotape on the bike) printers usually want a layered print format, e.g. base layer clear, layer 1 black, layer 2 gold, etc.
