WD40 is not gonna last. Take the door of the hingnes, clean whatever is left on the hinges, apply some grease and put the door back on.

Thumbs Up
WD is water dispersant, and WD40 doesn’t last long anywhere.

3 in 1 for the win.

I'd have trouble taking the doors off their hinges with my dodgy arm, with it's lack of range of movement. Or rather, getting them back on could be tricky for me. I don't mind having to do a 2 minute job once in a while. Been in full spring clean mode lately - kitchen is gleaming right now Very Happy <= house proud mode.

I don't have any 3-in-1, and when I say money is tight... Sad Maybe I'll just use the sunflower oil again - that seemed to work for quite a while.

If taking the door off the hinges is not an option, then I would opt for some penetrating oil instead of WD40.

By the way, if money is tight, lard also works great on door hinges.

I don't use lard, so I don't have any.

Coconut oil is a good all purpose lubricant.
I used it on my face, and a year later: practically no scarring!

My offending door is at work, which is NHS, so if I have to call the works dept, it will take forever (they have much more important work to do than oil a secretary's door).

So I am not taking no door off no hinges, no siree bob.
It will have to be the WD40 as a temporary fix.

Sometimes its the little things, today there was a robin on the bird feeder. Nothing out of the ordinary but he just looked amazing in the sun.

To be fair, last time I went in there* (just before Christmas) I found some rather awesome knickers, festive in green or red with black lacy edges. Very reasonably priced, they were, and in my size, too!

*I probably average about once every two years. Laughing

Today my gears have been oiled by another mad Sunday afternoon bout of hacking the rest of the garden jungle down, managed to hack out the rest of the frantically exuberant climbing rose, and got my saw back out on the mad tree-weed, all efficiently supervised by the cats, of course.

So it's down to knee level now, much more manageable, ready to start recreating into a thing of pleasure and beauty.

I just have to find the energy to clear up all the clippings (might take a few weeks to get round to that Laughing )
If I can find a man with a chainsaw and a trailer, it will be the work of half an hour or so for him to chainsaw it right down to stump level, stick a couple of copper nails in the stump, and take it to the tip for me, then I will be a happy little bunny.

Sorry, we've been cancelled. You'll just have to learn to do stuff for yourself.

I've just done my bit towards Women's rights and Women's Lib. Also did my bit towards the LBQTYFRIEERT+ community, the Woke and SJWs. I bought some lettuce for a sandwich AND made the sandwich myself. I also bought some slip on shoes too.

Won a brand new 50" 4k TV on fleabay, I was the only bidder.

Picked it up and on the wall within an hour of winning it. Seller was polite but a bit pissed he only got £250 for it.

The sound and picture are amazing!

Maybe not my last trip to B&Q but the one before a guy in a white van asks "wanna buy a TV?" Seriously?! I politely explained in this day and age we've reached "peak TV" and I had no use for it. I then went on to ask where he was when I wanted "cheap rolls of carpet* left over from a job, honest guv!" when I was building my shed Smile

*The usual deal is the cheap stuff ripped up from airports or exhibition centres but I guess there's not so much of that about these days. Useless in a house but ideal for a shed or alleyway.

Well, they are really, aren't they.
I'm sure many women wouldn't agree with me - its an unfashionable opinion.
But I still find the species useful.
