Hi, I just got a Honda Revere 600 from my dad. I'm wondering if theres any way I can restrict it myself, without paying silly dealer prices? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Matt

You could look at making some washers up for the carbs.

You would have to take it to a dyno and get them to check it. You would probably need some dyno time if you wanted to fine tune it.

If it's not something you're planning on keeping in I've heard a rag up the exhaust would reduce the power a bit.

If you are planning on keeping it, I don't know if you actually need 'proof'...because if they tested it it would actually be 33hp.


The law is very vague on this sort of area.

Hi, cheers for the advice. I dont know whether i fancy making my own washers, as i'd most likely screw it up. And now the honda dealer say they dont make a restrictor kit for my bike lol, great. I thought they had around 50hp?

Making the restrictions will be a challenge as it will take time to get the dimensions of the washers just perfect, so its bang on/below 33bhp. Just a case of trial and error. All the Dyno time will soon mount up to a cost where it may not be cheaper than buying a kit from FI International.

If you can find a forum based around the bike, you could ask for those with a restriction kit to pass on the dimensions of the washers, or even sell a couple. Then you can pay the £30 or whatever to get the power output graph thing from a simple dyno run as proof, should the insurance company require it. Thumbs Up
