1998 Hornet engine swop with 2004 engine

How do.

After many years of abuse my poor old 98 Hornet 600 has mullered its gearbox and was wondering if a 2004/5 engine will be an ok replacement.

I know the engine fits etc but can I swop rocker covers as the breather's are different, the bolt holes look the same but what about underneath?

Also electrics etc?
