The rule of diminishing returns doesn't quite cover it.

Same with watches, clothing, cars, pots and pans.

My guess is most buyers will have their speakers poorly situated in a horrible sounding room whilst feeling very proud as they lower the needle onto £2 Nessun Dorma LP purchased from a charity shop.

As an owner of a 1 litre sportsbike I'm aware of these types of folly....hence I like it.

If you have the necessary change, you can afford something like that.
But for a long time now, it's no longer just about quality, but about being able to say what you have and how much it cost.

I also find the topic of collector's value very difficult. But here, too, it's clear that if you find the person who absolutely wants it, then that person is also willing to pay a corresponding price.
