haha how many of you on a 50cc automatic actually throttle on and off and pretend you have gears, people come out of college doing it everyday, it really makes me laugh
even saw one lad on his moped driving with his helmet balanced on the top of his head so he could have a fag on the way home

I've seen someone on an RS50 with his girlfriend on the back with no helmet.

pretty damn stupid, two guys always nip down our roads with no helmets doing about 35+
there is just no sense in it at all, it takes under 10 seconds to put a helmet on, takes over 10 minutes to pick up bits of skull

its up to them if they want to put there life at risk by not wearing a helmet, does,nt effect others in the event of a crash.

Yeah I see many kids on scooters doing that. So annoying, they must think people were born yesterday. Also hate it when they sit at the traffic lights revving their engines constantly. Haven't they heard of something called idling? Obviously not.

Josh a lot have valid reasons for that, well I do. My bike refuses to idle when cold so I have to keep revving it to keep it ticking over.

I can do nothing but agree there Wave, thats exactly what they think. They also think pulling wheelies is good, while the tiny tiny forks take a battering and slowly bend under the weight of the scooter crashing down because of some prat that doesn't know how to wheely his scooter properly

EDIT: Also, don't forget, resting feet on pillion footpegs add another 10mph

I actually have to back off the throttle every now and again otherwise my speed drops and the engine starts to die.

But I dont pretend its geared...

At the lights I have no choice other than to rev it to keep it close to the "powerband" as they call it. if I let the tick over get low, when I go to pull away it seems to bog out and stall. Which is embarresing at the lights...

Along the same lines, why do boy racers on geared smalled bikes not bother using the back brake? I was watching one today revving and slipping the clutch to hold their position whilst waiting on a hill for about 30 seconds.

Also, do they imagine that not having L plates on a 125/ 50cc bike is not really very obvious? 125's and smaller bikes are instantly recognisable as such being so tiny, and it's clear when they're riding beyond their licence.

I won't rev at it at the lights unless its gonna stall due to cold or dodgy plug as its gets hot enough in traffic! I will give it a quick twist of the throttle as I slow down as I don't want to seize it as I use premix. Mine revs very high very fast and will be doing 60 before you realise it. There is no real way to drive it slowly around town so it may sound like I'm revving it on and off as if I were changing gear. Its not really set up for the road though. I only use it in good weather for short journeys. Primarily its for sprinting.

i rev the engine on me ped when im hitting about 50 cause if i lay off the throttle and then pull full back it seems to get to 70 quicker

They just think their de-resticted scooter with a technicrap pipe can take on a 125 sports replica. Little do they know they usually get beat when the 125 shifts into 3rd gear and hits the almighty powerband
