how do you do yours?

Haynes suggest attaching a bag with oil in to the cable and leaving it over night.

ive seen gadgets for sale that look like they may do the job much quicker, no idea if the are any good though.

i had a throttle stick open on my bike years ago due to my lack of maintenance. not a very nice experience.

Remove top end of cable. Make a funnel out of plasticine. Add your favourite brand of oil. Jiggle it about or leave overnight until oil comes out of the other end.

Check the type of cable, some are plastic lined and will not take kindly to being oiled. only oil old style steel on steel cables.

Condom full of the thinnest grease rather than oil. Squeeze it in.

As "ZebraDriver"states, i use 3 in 1 oil what ever age the cables are.

I don't put oil on my cables because they are all plastic lined.....

I use one of these tools with a 3 in 1 oil spray. Works well and no faffing about with bags or plasticine.

I needed to replace the 'A' throttle cable on my R1 as it was a bit frayed at the twistgrip end.So I bought some excellent cables from wemoto.Bargain.Was not worth trying to repair the damaged one for the price of new ones
