new exhausts

just wondering what the advantages of getting a new exhaust like an arrows or jolly moto are? do they give more power or are they just for better sound and costmetic? they cost about 200 quid which seems like a lot if it's just for the sound.

i know very well the NSR125R , the best exhaust is the jollymoto 402 CARB , the gain of power is about 2.5 hp and 1000 revs more . taking high revs is much more smooth and the shape is very nice . about the price it's 360 euros (taxes & shipping included)

Putting a custom exhaust on an NSR (an arrow exhaust for example) will make a big difference. Providing the bike is derestricted I think...but anyway, you will definitely feel the difference and the extra 'umfph' Then again I don't know much ...

i owned 3 NSR since 1991 and i had 4 arrow all broken at the exit of the cylinder . for the same price the jollymoto is much lighter , much efficient and much more reliable . i had mine since more than 1 year and it looks like new . very low heath .

l also have had bad experances with arrow and nikon pipes breaking at ethier end.

if l were to fit pipes for tartyness and sound on my KR-1S it would be jolly moto,s

my mate has had 2 arrow systems on his NSR too and they keep braking, so jollymoto is probably the best for it.

As said, an aftermarket system for a 2 stroke 125 will make some difference, not a huge one, but a difference nonetheless. Most stock 125 expansion chambers are designed to give good performance both while restricted and full power. But most aftermarket systems are made just for a de-restricted bike, making it rev cleaner and giving a better power output, especially in the higher RPM's.

Arrow 2 stroke expansion chambers are made from mild steel, so often rot/corrode quite quickly. The Jolly system for the RS125 is also made from mild steel from what I've heard, but are better than the Arrow in most ways. They arent that cheap, but can be worth the cash for the gains in power and noise.

cheers for the info. I think I've decided to save myself 220 quid and just stick with the stock one. I don't think it's worth the money just for a little bit more power, also the main reason is at some point I'll probably change to a bigger bike anyway.

Arrows are usually pretty good, but most commonly found on Mito's I would say. As for the Jolly Motos, they are good pipe, look wicked, but a lot of the time they can be on the expensive side, but worth their money. Nikkons are always worth considering, quality pipes, very loud. But then again I'm being biased because I have a Nikkon

As for performance, you should notice a slight increase, some pipes give an extra 2-3bhp, and also makes the powerband bigger so the bike will feel much quicker. Fit a Jolly Moto, take it to 7500k RPM, hold on tight and tell us what you think
