Good Morning! Brand spanking new member so please tolerate me. I have an irritating problem with my CBR600F3(T) tacho. It works grand up until about 7 to 8k then begins to go nuts, bouncing from nearly end stop to end stop. If I drop the revs back off, the tacho starts to behave normally again. I've read a few forum replies regarding tacho problems but have never read one associated with this type of problem. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Electronic or spinning cable drive?

I believe it's electrical. Pity it isn't a cable, would be easier to sort out .

@Ste, had a look at the first link, THAT looks hopeful! Rusty screws! That could be it, cheers.

Just as a quick sanity check; prove the charging voltage isn't going ape. Stick a meter across the battery, rev to 5k and ensure the terminal voltage stays below 15.5v (for double proof rev to 7-8k).

Something easy to eliminate (well, easy if all okay!).
