My abdnitsoil level is getting a bit low. It says in the manual that it uses SAE 10-40 weight oil. Does it need to be bike specific or can i just top it up with the same oil i use for the car?

I'd say 10w40 is 10w40, but I use bike oil, from halfords, purple bottle, under a tenner.

Use bike oil. Car oil might do the job, might cause clutch slip. Different people have different experiences, but I'd pay the extra few pennies on the right oil, instead of paying 40 odd quid to change my clutch plates.
