That's despite the Briton - who made his career racing two-stroke machines - making his dislike for four-stroke racing bikes well known. He previously referred to them as 'muck-spreaders'.

Trouble with an example like that is it deserves to be preserved as a mint museum piece, but if there was ever a bike that needed a good thrashing, this is it! But I think of them as a bike that you thrash, it gets tired, you throw it away - you couldn't at the kind of price that's likely to command though. That's why Yam LC 250s and 350s were really a better bet in their day, not so expensive. Everyone needs a chance to try out one of these though. Frantic to the nth degree.

After 35 years I wonder what has deteriorated even if kept in ideal conditions (dark, low humidity, cool temperature?)

The quality of the bodywork wasn't very good either, so I wonder if plastics might have become brittle too. All depends on how it's been treated, even in storage I suppose.
