Summary: I told you all to bring brollies!

I left home at 6am and picked up my mate Millsy before heading up the M40, feeling slightly optimistic because the forecast had been for overnight rain and we had so far had none. However two junctions away from Silverstone the heavens opened and by the time we arrived the circuit was thoroughly soaked, bollocks Rain

First session of the day was a bit 'orrible, with the rain tipping down and standing water everywhere. The R6 was doing its best to get rid of me and my feet kept slipping off the pegs, leading to some entertaining moments climbing back onto the bike mid corner. Once the rain stopped falling it became rather fun, with some parts of the track developing a bit of a dry line. After lunch all three groups were called into the club house and given a good bollocking for crashing so much, particularly those people who were running on road tyres and wiping themselves out trying to follow the people with wets.

Once the sun came out the rest of the wet stuff dried up pretty well, with only a few slimy patches left where the grip was a little dubious. The wet morning had most of the BCF people pretty miserable but I think everybody enjoyed the last few sessions and got their confidence back. No crashes in our group, unless you count both myself and Millsy falling off the paddock bike. I came away with a 2:23 in the final session, two seconds quicker than last time so happy with that - and very good fun it was too! Very Happy

Morning Sad

Afternoon Very Happy

Not a fan of greasy Silverstone in the damp, especially after my last outing there, but once it dried out I was starting to get back into it a bit and blew out the not-had-a-trackday-since-October cobwebs somewhat.

Wasn't as much fun when there's only a little posse to 'hang' with in the pits though.

Roll on Snetterton, and it had better be sunny!

Started off wet so i asked to be moved down in to novices first thing. Last time i rode Silverstone in the wet i took myself out at copse.
Got myself revved up and ready to go, did the first 3 sitting laps and had a number of slides. So decided to get petrol instead of going back out for the rest of the session.
Next session was going ok on a slightly dryer track. Coming out of the chicane following some slower bibbed riders guy in front decided to out accelerate them so I followed. I was about 1.5 bike lengths behind when his back end stepped out and he low sided going round woodcotes. I slammed on the brakes so I didn’t hit is bike I don’t know how I missed it, and how the people behind didn’t collect me. Session was stopped.
As the day went on it got dryer and my confidence was coming back. Last session was sunny and dry, was really pushing hard and was knackers when I came back in.
Good day, got my confidence back, roll on Cadwell on the 25th!J
