The MET's current strategy for fighting knife and gang crime in London is to ignore the description of what the majority of these criminals look like because they are in a state of political denial. Until they change this I don't see things getting much better. Also they prefer to blame inanimate objects. I have been watching the kitchen knives in my house closely and none have them have been off stabbing people despite what they MET seem to suggest.
