Is a Meteor 350 going to be reliable witout a great deal of input to keep it that way? I'm not knowledgeble about the build quality of modern Enfields. They srike me (maybe wrongly) as a Sunday afternoon potter bike.
That 350 looks nice though I prefer the Fireball to the one with the little sissy bar.

Why on earth would you assume that? Riding school bikes get abused and dropped, every day, in all weathers, by people who don't know how to ride properly yet.
And you're doing, what 7 miles a day Monday to Friday? If your real priority is saving money, and motorcycles aren't a hobby, get an electric bicycle. Similar or cheaper upfront cost, the electricity is pennies, no tax or mot or insurance costs. ____________________ Current - '94 VFR750FR, '00 VFR800FI Previous - '10 Street Triple R, '92 MZ ETZ301, '05 TTR250, NSR125R, KMX125, "Honda" Win (chinese copy of an old Honda design with a C90 engine)

Mine seems alright.
Admittedly I'm not doing a thousand miles a month in all weathers, but it doesn't look or feel like it's going to fall apart any second.
If I'm honest, the quality is way above what I was expecting at the price and that was probably the deciding factor when I bought it, if it had seemed a bit shonky, I would've given it a swerve.
There are some obvious signs of cost cutting (most people point to the suspension on Interceptors) but the basic bike is all there, not like some of the chinky offerings of recent history, which Enfields (unfairly, IMO) seem to get lumped in with. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........
